A new playground and a games room for break time at the Junior School
At Vittoria Junior International School, the year began with two new features in the areas where the pupils spend their break times: the refurbished playground and a new games room.
For the outdoor playground, we have chosen new safety-surface, non-slip flooring, certified in accordance with current regulations. This work has made the playground even safer for our pupils, who use it every day during their break times.
The second new feature is the games room, which is available to pupils during break time. There is table football, table tennis and table hockey. These are classic games, perfect for challenging each other in pairs or one-on-one.
These activities are beneficial in many ways. They help develop hand-eye coordination, reflexes and concentration. They require children to follow the rules and take turns, to accept defeat and to celebrate victory in a sporting manner. In games played in pairs or teams, pupils also learn to work together and get a feel for teamwork. And during the twenty-minute break, these activities provide a chance to get some exercise, take a break from lessons and make new friends, even with pupils from other classes.
