Prof. Leccia opened the speech by explaining how the teaching staff stimulated reflection by starting the Cineforum with the 2014 film 'Her', which depicts a hyper-technological society in which everyone is always connected and in which a man falls in love with the operating system of his PC that seems to know every nuance of his character.
Book fair: our students on stage to discuss AI
On the occasion of the 36th edition of the Turin International Book Fair, a delegation of 1st and 2nd four-year students took part in the conference 'Artificial Intelligence: dialogue between experts and young people on the challenges of the future'.
Thanks to the collaboration with the 'Amico Libro' Association, the organiser of the event, it was possible to tell the story of the educational journey our students have undertaken this academic year to assess the impact of artificial intelligence on our lives.
Afterwards, he recounted his attempt to use Chat GPT in writing the texts for a slide presentation, which was unsuccessful due to a 'misunderstanding', as the students called it, between man and machine, i.e. the difficulty in conveying emotions and the importance of certain moments.
Finally, thanks to the intervention of the student Andrea Maione, the in-depth work done on the relationship between AI and ethics was presented, analysing the innovative 'AI Act' just approved by the EU to regulate AI activities that could go against people's fundamental rights.
