TOK Exhibition: A Journey Into the Nature of Knowledge
On Thursday, 6th June, the school hosted this year’s Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition, a highlight of the IB academic calendar and a unique opportunity for students to showcase their critical thinking and understanding of knowledge itself.
TOK, a core component of the IB Diploma Programme, encourages students to reflect deeply on questions such as: What counts as knowledge? Are some types of knowledge more useful than others? Should all knowledge be pursued?
The objects ranged from scientific journals and historical photographs to personal items and political symbols, each carrying its own story and epistemological significance.
The event, a moment of dialogue and curiosity, created a vibrant and reflective atmosphere, as teachers engaged in thoughtful conversations with students about the meaning, ownership, and ethical dimensions of knowledge.
Younger students were also invited to attend, giving them their first taste of what TOK is all about, and the rest of the school community was welcomed to join in.
This interdisciplinary event once again highlighted the power of inquiry and the importance of questioning the way we understand the world around us.
