Two students presented Luxembourg, talking about the country's official languages

A special afternoon for the European Day of Languages
On Friday 26 September, the two fifth classes of the primary school celebrated the European Day of Languages with a truly engaging activity.
Teacher Claire proposed to the pupils to tell about the linguistic richness that is often experienced within the walls of the home. She asked those who spoke another language with their parents to prepare a small presentation, with the support of their families. The response was enthusiastic: everyone accepted the invitation with curiosity and a desire to share.
During the afternoon, the class travelled through different languages and cultures:

One pupil spoke about the Spanish of Mexico, a language linked to her family history

Another comrade illustrated Brazilian Portuguese
A presentation combined German, Dutch, Italian and English

Again, one pupil told about Farsi next to English and Italian;
- another combined Chinese, Italian and English;
finally, one intervention intertwined English and Lebanese Arabic
Each presentation was an opportunity to discover curiosities, new words and personal stories, turning the class into a small mosaic of cultures.
The day showed how linguistic diversity is a valuable resource and a way to bring the children closer to the beauty of European and global plurality.
