White coats in the classroom: Dr Sandri's special lesson behind the scenes

The Year 5 classes enjoyed a morning dedicated to science and discovery: Dr Alberto Sandri, a surgeon and parent at our school, gave a special lesson on the circulatory and respiratory systems.

Between theory and practice: aspiring doctors in the classroom

The meeting was not just a theoretical explanation, but a real journey into the world of medicine:

Thanks to an anatomical model of the heart and the use of pulse oximeters and stethoscopes, the pupils were able to listen to heartbeats and monitor oxygen levels, transforming themselves into little doctors for a day.

Dr Sandri illustrated the challenges of working in a hospital through a dedicated presentation, patiently answering the children's numerous questions and curiosities.

A bridge between school and family

The success of the initiative is evidenced by the enthusiasm of the students, described by the doctor as "attentive, curious and wonderfully engaged". This exchange highlights the importance of collaboration between schools and families: a valuable opportunity to enrich students' educational background with direct and educational experiences.
