Vittoria Upper Secondary International School

Our International Upper Secondary School in the heart of Turin offers both the Cambridge International Certificate of Education and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

The ICE and IBDP programmes are taught in English and provide a final diploma that is one of the most highly regarded by universities around the world.

The programme

We aim to offer a challenging and rewarding programme that enables our students to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to create their own future.

Our 40 years of experience in teaching, research and experimentation resulted in our Upper Secondary International School, the combination of the Cambridge IGCSE programme (grades 9-10) with the IB Diploma Programme (grades 11-12).
The result is a well-designed and highly effective programme of study.

Spanning four years, this pathway allows students to gain in-depth subject knowledge. It also encourages them to develop cross-curricular and cross-cultural skills in more than one language so they are equipped to achieve their personal academic and professional goals.

We supplement our two programmes with courses, workshops and educational trips that take full advantage of our central location to promote the Italian heritage on the whole.

Cambridge ICE and IGCSE certificates

Vittoria is the only high school in Torino that offers the Cambridge International Certificate of Education (ICE).  This qualification is the group award for achievement in several IGCSE subjects. Unlike other schools that include only a few IGCSE subjects in their curriculum, Vittoria Upper Secondary School provides an integrated and comprehensive curriculum. We deliver the programme in English, creating a solid foundation for the IB Diploma Programme.

Students can choose between the linguistic or the scientific track. Each track is made of seven subjects.
In addition to these subjects, Vittoria Schools Torino requires Italian as an additional subject. Italian-speaking students follow the traditional MIUR-based programme, while native speakers of other languages study Italian as a Second Language (L2).
All ICE students attend further courses and workshops on critical thinking and developing soft skills. This fulfils their requirement in completing their ICE preparation and they can subsequently enter the two-year IB Diploma Programme.

IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a prestigious two-year programme of higher education. It corresponds to the fourth and fifth years of Italian high school and the final two years of foreign high school systems.
The course is authorised by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and the diploma is recognised by universities all over the world, as well as by the Italian Ministry of Education.

The programme aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge—students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically. Compared to traditional high schools, the structure of IBDP follows a university-based approach: IB students can choose which courses to attend and build their own curriculum.
At Vittoria, students can choose between the linguistic or the scientific track.

Admission requirements: Cambridge ICE Diploma (minimum score Merit) / IB Middle Year Programme for students coming from internationals schools; completion of the third year of Upper Secondary School and at least B2 English proficiency for students coming from Italian high schools.

Why choose Vittoria Upper Secondary International School

Combination of best international programmes

In our 40 years of experience in education, research and experimentation, we have explored many international education systems. To build our Upper Secondary programme, we combined the Cambridge ICE - IGCSE programme with the IB Diploma Programme.

Customised study addresses

In the first two years of our Upper Secondary International School, Cambridge ICE, it is possible to choose between two study paths: linguistic and scientific.

The following two-year period, IBDP - International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, is developed on three alternative paths, in order to better finalise the subsequent university choice: linguistic, scientific and humanities

English proficiency and world view

Our students achieve high fluency in language by studying all subjects in English over a four-year period. They also have the unique opportunity to engage with other international young people. Living, studying and working anywhere in the world promptly becomes second nature to them.

Appreciation for Italian culture

Our international school leverages the solid organisation of an Italian high school to provide our native Italian-speaking students with a strong foundation of culture in their own language. At the same time, we lead our foreign students to value Italian culture while teaching Italian as a foreign language.

Practical and innovative teaching methods

We implement a nontraditional teaching approach that is both collaborative and engaging. We support learning with welcoming environments and well-equipped laboratories.

Reduced class sizes and qualified native or bilingual teachers

This ideal type of learning environment enables students to become active participants in their own education, fully immersing them in an international setting focused on individual and collective growth.

An approachable school coordinator

The school coordinator helps students choose the best combination of subjects while guiding them through university admissions and encouraging new educational experiences. The coordinator also supports parents and fosters collaboration among faculty.

ICT and the use of technology

Now more than ever, it is essential for students to have an in-depth knowledge of the technological tools at their disposal and know how to use them correctly. For this reason, ICT courses are offered starting in primary school and continue throughout the IGCSE syllabus. Technology also plays a fundamental role during lessons in other class subjects. We firmly believe that technology should support traditional activities without replacing them. To this day, hands-on activities and traditional textbooks have remained a cornerstone of teaching and learning in our classrooms, and various multimedia tools serve only to support study and class activities.

In-depth study of at least one second foreign language

In addition to English and Italian, students can choose to study another language. Both French and Spanish are offered, with the goal being to obtain a level of B2 First certificate in the language.

Internships and summer courses

We encourage students to use their extracurricular time to explore their interests through various internships and summer courses when school is not in session for normal lessons.
