Exhibition poetry
A poetry workshop in English culminating in the staging of an exhibition.
The European High School has concluded its period dedicated to unconventional teaching: a suspension of traditional lessons that made way for workshops, meetings with experts and moments of co-management. The students' assessment paints a positive picture, with strong appreciation for inclusive methodologies that value creativity, teamwork and time management.
Two initiatives left their mark for their originality and engagement:
A poetry workshop in English culminating in the staging of an exhibition.
The most popular project overall, which saw students transform themselves into authors and performers of original rap songs.
The classes expressed their desire for an increasingly interactive school:
There was great enthusiasm for the STEM astronomy workshop and the "Libriamoci" project. The initiative on the linguistic interaction of Romance languages, in collaboration with Unito, was also very popular, made unique by the use of three-dimensional viewers.
The writer Voltolini won over readers, while the "Europe at School" meeting provided useful information on the topic of student mobility in the European Union.
Unanimous opinion on the civic value of the meeting with the justice of the peace on the rights and duties of minors. The courses on gender equality, communication and the STEM workshop dedicated to nutrition were also appreciated.
At the end of this experience, the students made a proposal: to permanently include a space dedicated to music in the school curriculum. According to the students, this discipline represents:
'the most inclusive subject, capable of reducing school anxiety and promoting wellbeing in the classroom'.
To conclude our overview of alternative activities, we welcome the testimony of a mother who reflects on the educational value of these initiatives:
"My sincere thanks for sharing this overview: for us families, it is very valuable to receive feedback on the children's participation and reactions to proposals that stimulate critical thinking, introspection and responsibility. It is encouraging to see how these activities have promoted inclusion and creativity. Thank you for the care you have taken in educating our children."
